Mountains and beaches, islands and national parks, cultured cities and absorbing history; it had just about everything you'd want from a travel destination.

The kingdom of Bosnia, called Moesia, is large…. Its climate is very temperate and very healthy. The ground is rich with many mines of iron, lead, tin, copper, silver, and gold. Men are tall, handsome, clever, robust, and courageous. The soil is rich in all things for nourishment and human sustenance. It is irrigated by many navigable streams and adorned by many lakes, rich in fish; it excels in a great and agreeable diversity of springs, hillocks, and valleys, plains, and forests. It reminds us more of land cultivated by man than of wilderness.

The comic Monty Python song Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life has topped a poll in the UK of "alternative" funeral songs.

The tune, which is sung by Eric Idle and featured in the movie The Life Of Brian, beat competition from The Jam's Going Underground and The Animals' We Gotta Get Out Of This Place.

The survey, commissioned by the Children's Society, also found that nine out of 10 people found talking about funeral arrangements more difficult than talking about sex.

Teofilovic Twins, Ratko and Radisa, are, in every meaning of the word, unique performers of ancient Serbian and Balkan music. During their fifteen years of preparations - before they finally decided to break the silence and appear on European ethno scene - they have solved the "mystery of the second voice," and found long lost harmonies of traditional singing. Their debut album "Cuvari sna" ("Dream Keepers"), released 1998 was the first one of the future series of four albums, that would complete the initial circle.

Mostar Sevdah Reunion Band je grupa genijalnih muzicara iz Mostara, nesto najbolje (po mom skromnom misljenju) sto se pojavilo na Bosanskoj muzickoj sceni u zadnjih nekoliko decenija. Sviraju tradicionalne sevdalinke ali na vrlo zanimljiv i orginalan nacin. Svirali su zajedno devedesetih onako iz zezanja, a onda su 1999 snimili prvi CD (izdat u Holandiji, mislim) i postali "World Music" atrakcija.

Televizija Srbije je prošle sedmice emitirala intervju sa slavnim režiserom Nemanjom Kusturicom, u kome je nekadašnji Emir i nekadašnji Sarajlija objasnio motive svog krštenja. Opširna Kusturicina ispovijest snimljena je u ambijentu njegovog privatnog etno-sela. Nastala je kao njegov odgovor na primitivne uvrede kojima je nedavno bio izložen na zboru seljaka iz komšiluka, koji nisu pokazali nimalo razumijevanja spram odluke Vlade Srbije da Kusturici dodijeli korištenje dodatnih više stotina hektara zemlje u privatnom vlasništvu njegovih susjeda.
