It's Only Rock and Roll (Rock Hall Newcomers, 2010)

Tonight the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomes five new acts, including punk godfathers the Stooges (that's Iggy to the right); the long-lived, beloved Hollies; reggae star Jimmy Cliff; art-rockers-turned-Top-40-hitmakers Genesis; and ABBA, who in the 1970s rose from relative obscurity in Sweden to become the biggest thing to hit the dance floor since platform shoes. Are rock fans happy that indie stalwarts the Stooges are joining the Hall alongside a pop-disco act that's sold more than 300 million records? No, they're not -- but what's rock and roll without a little controversy?
